After nearly 9 years, Sequential’s 6-voice analog drum synth, Tempest, is retiring. Co-developed by Dave Smith and noted instrument designer Roger Linn, Tempest has been embraced by musicians from a wide range of genres for both live performance and studio recording.

Sequential has set final pricing for the Sequential Prophet-6 synthesizer, which is scheduled to begin shipping to dealers in June. US list price will be $2,999 with a US MAP of $2,799. The team has ramped up production to meet demand for the 6-voice, all-analog poly synth, which has been unprecedented.

Dave Smith Instruments is now shipping the DSM01 Curtis Filter module, our first offering for modular synthesizers. The module takes its name from the original filter chip designed by the late Doug Curtis and provides both a switchable 2/4-pole low-pass filter and a VCA.
