We chatted with Jesse about how he’s using the Pro 2.
Jesse, what made you choose the Pro 2?
“As a sound designer and ambient musician, I chose the Pro 2 for its boundless sonic possibilities. Its deep modulation matrix and amazing oscillator section make it a sound designer’s dream synthesizer for creating intricate sounds and sequences.”
How are you using it?
“I’m currently using the Pro 2 primarily for deep textural drones, evolving soundscapes with the wavetables, and complex sequencer patterns.”
What’s one of your favorite things about it?
“Apart from the limitless sonic possibilities made possible by the extensive modulation matrix, the panel is intuitive and laid out perfectly for sculpting and manipulating any sound I can imagine.”
What does it give you that other synths might not?
“Its four complex oscillators combined with extensive modulation options and several real-time controls provide me with the tools to create unique sounds that I just can’t get out of my other gear. It is also an excellent controller for external synthesizers and my modular synth rig.”
Any interesting Pro 2 tricks or techniques you’d like to share?
“I like using the paraphonic mode, setting a different detuned wavetable for each oscillator, and modulating the filters while sweeping through the wavetable shapes with different modulations. Playing chords with the note hold on or using the sequencer results in gorgeous evolving drones and soundscapes.”
